cozumel recommendations About cozumel Dtraveller.com
General
Dress code is casual and fresh, for warm weather. Always remember that your sun lotion must be biodegradable, as we take care of the natural habitat of wonderful species. Prefer always to drink bottled water for your security.

To Entry
Visitors from other countries must have to bring their effective passport and visa (in case citizens of your country may need it) to enter to Cozumel, Mexico. Contact the Mexico's consular agency in your city or country. Requirements may vary from one country to other.

Currency – ATM´s
US currency (only billets, not coins) is widely accepted in the island of Cozumel and the Mexican Caribbean. Prices usually are expressed in Mexican pesos as well as in US dollar (and the most of the restaurants manage as well a bilingual English-Spanish menu). Be sure to have enough cash money with you because ATMs are only at downtown.

Electricity
Same as in the US: a voltage of 110 AC. When visiting Cozumel Island, an adaptor and/or a converter could be helpful anyway.

Airports
Cozumel International Airport
Av. 65 & Boulevard Aeropuerto
Cozumel, Quintana Roo

Major airlines have direct flights or connections to Cozumel. Domestic flights connect with Cancun and the rest of the country. Small airplanes take you to Chetumal Airport, Merida Airport and the small air track in Chichén Itzá.

Ferry
Cozumel Island is an important port of call to cruises in the Caribbean. To cross to Playa del Carmen ferry leaves almost each hour. Car ferries are located in Puerto Morelos and Calica, to cross to Cozumel.

Car - Bus
Driving in Cozumel and in Mexico is on the right. To rent a car you need your valid driver's license from your resident country and always have it with you. Taxi system is very complete and covers every corner of the island. Going to the continent, there are bus stations in every big city, and almost every single town.
